A MILLION DESIRES

a million desires:
A million more such as these.

against the lush landscape
of my imagination,
and being.

deserts i will stray onto,
lose myself, once and again -
rivers will welcome my thirst.

the sun shall soak the rain;
and hail will burn to golden rust .

a sleight of sight;
colour shall turn a vibrant sepia,
black into glorious grey,
then white.
red, my love, will remain.

songs i scorned are now mine;
mine are now memories -
to dust and polish,
and give life,
if i please.

past perfect, in its time,
the future is not promised to be mine:
Now, in you i dwell.

A million desires beckon.
